Jennifer Brindley Ubl is a professional storm chaser and documentary photographer, widely recognized for her work capturing severe weather over the past two decades. She first documented a tornado nineteen years ago, beginning a career defined by both scientific collaboration and visual storytelling.

Jennifer spent seven years (2016–2022) working as the documentary photographer on a tornado research team led by Dr. Anton Seimon, contributing to field operations and visual documentation of severe storms. She has been chase partners with Skip Talbot since 2011, participating in a wide range of storm-related projects, including serving as support crew for the IMAX film Extreme Weather in the TIV and Doghouse chase vehicles. She also contributed as a consultant and artist on the 2018 short film STORMCHASER, and appeared as a background actor in the feature film Twisters, which cast real storm chasers.

With over twenty years of experience in documentary photography, Jennifer’s work has been published in major storm and meteorological texts, including Significant Tornadoes 1974–2022 and STORM by Hank Schyma. She has also contributed to educational media, including an interview featured in a K–8 textbook video series in partnership with National Geographic Learning.

Jennifer currently serves as a judge for the international storm photography competition Storm Photos of the Year (“The Stormies”), a role she has held since 2024.

In addition to her fieldwork, Jennifer is widely recognized for her role in advancing visibility and representation for women in storm chasing. Her work has been featured across major media platforms including the Netflix documentary series EARTHSTORM, Cosmopolitan, Outside Magazine, NPR, Sierra Magazine, and international publications such as The Telegraph and The Observer, as well as numerous national and international production companies.

Jennifer is a female storm chaser and professional photographer based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
